An initial osteopathic session usually lasts around 60 minutes and starts with a detailed medical history, which records both the medical history and the current state of health. This is followed by a manual examination, followed by the actual treatment. Depending on individual needs, additional techniques such as dry needling, kinesiological taping or cupping can be used. It is recommended that follow-up treatments be carried out at intervals of 2 to 4 weeks; however, shorter intervals may also be useful for acute symptoms.
The aim of osteopathy is to promote mobility and improve the function of organs and tissues. Gentle, precise movements stimulate blood circulation, optimize lymphatic flow and alleviate existing symptoms. Rely on our expertise to holistically support your health.
Some statutory health insurance companies now reimburse part of the costs of osteopathic treatment, provided that there is a medical prescription. Depending on the terms of the contract, private health insurance companies also often cover part of the costs.

Who is this procedure suitable for?
Osteopathic medicine traditionally considers three essential systems that are of great importance for human health:
- The craniosacral system — the focus here is on treating the skull, spinal cord and nervous system.
- The visceral system — this is where the internal organs are treated.
- The parietal system — this system includes the treatment of the musculoskeletal system.
Since these three levels are closely linked and influence each other, it is important to consider all three systems equally in a holistic therapy concept. It is only through this comprehensive approach that the body as a whole can function optimally and promote health.
Possible areas of application of osteopathy:
- Headaches/Migraines
- Back & neck pain
- Stress & Burnout
- Joint pain & muscle tension
- Digestive problems
- Jaw pain/CMD
- Pregnancy symptoms

If you are undergoing physiotherapy treatment and are unable to make an appointment, it is not bad for now. But it is important that you cancel this by telephone as soon as possible, because we would then like to give other patients the chance to get an appointment.
As a rule, appointments should be canceled at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise, unfortunately, a default invoice must be issued for the missed appointment.
How much before my appointment should I be at the practice?
Please arrive at our practice in good time, if possible 5-10 minutes before the start of treatment.
A delayed start of treatment cannot usually be made up for due to our tight schedule.
What should I wear for physical therapy?
You don't need any special clothing for therapeutic treatments in our practices. If sports exercises are the focus of therapy in consultation with our physiotherapists, sporty, comfortable clothing is an advantage.
According to Section 15 of the Federal Joint Committee's Therapeutic Products Directive, a prescription for physiotherapy is generally valid for 28 days. If treatment is not started within this period, the prescription loses its validity.
For private prescriptions, the period of validity is usually three months from the date of issue.

Physiotherapy is covered by the compulsory benefits of statutory health insurance funds.
However, it is a misconception that you can only go to a physiotherapist with a prescription. Of course, as a self-payer, you can also make an appointment for treatment at a practice of your choice.
This applies to just about all treatment methods. However, it is recommended that you only use this option if you have minor health problems. If you have unexplained pain over a longer period of time, it is always necessary to have it clarified by a doctor.
A detailed medical history is usually taken at the first appointment. Your physical therapist will talk to you about your complaints and medical history to create an individualized treatment plan. A physical exam may also be part of the initial visit to assess your mobility and affected areas.
All payments are cashless. For this, we accept all major EC and credit cards.
The abbreviations stand for various physiotherapy measures. For example, MT stands for manual therapy and KG stands for physiotherapy. Your physiotherapist will explain to you which measures stand behind the abbreviations and how they are used for treatment.
